How are the teams organized?

The league is divided into two divisions. Each division will be reviewed in alternating years based on team size from the previous years’ roster and as teams are added or subtracted. Each team provides two parent volunteers as League Representatives to the league, and these League Representatives will assist in coordinating and organizing competition for summer swim teams within the league.

Divisions will be set at the end of the two-year cycle using the following criteria:

● The Lewis Division will consist of half of the teams consisting with the largest roster sizes from the previous years’ team roster.

● The Clark Division will consist of the other half of the teams with the smallest roster sizes from the previous years’ team roster.

● In the event the league consists of an odd number, the league members will vote to determine which division will have the extra team.

Do you have rules for teams and meets?

League Rules

Full information about League rules can be found in our League By-laws.

All SCC Swim League meets use parent volunteer stroke judges to ensure swimmers conform to correct swim technique.  These judges are required to attend a training session every other year. As part of their training, the stroke judges review the Officiating Championship Swimming video. Click here to read the printed materials that accompany the video. This document provides a very simple explanation as to what stoke judges will be looking for during a swim meet.

For more detailed rules about the sport of swimming, please refer to the most recent versions of the USA Swimming rulebooks on their site - click here for more information.

For rules regarding pool and diving depths, see the MSHSAA Swimming and Diving rules.

Team Rules

Each individual team will have additional rules for parents and swimmers participating in their program, including residency requirements, try-outs, practice schedules, etc.  Information may be found on each team website, or may be distributed to families as part of the registration process.
