Combining Events in Meet Maestro
Good morning all!
In prepping for our season, I asked the SwimTopia support team about combining events. I want to share their response, as I know many teams will need this as the season kicks off. This is how our team handled "combining" in the past, but it may be a little different for some of you.
I can share that when I run printed copies of heat sheets for our home meets, I make a handwritten note on the first printout of each of the events to combine, then use that one to make all the additional copies. Our announcer and bullpen leads are now pretty adept at seeing this quickly on heat sheets.
Thanks,
Kerry

At this time you cannot automatically combine the heats in Maestro. However, what many teams will do after the entries are merged is move individual athletes/relays to non-overlapping lanes within each heat.
For example, you would have the last heat of the Girls 15-18 event be in lanes 1, 2, 3 and then heat 1 of the Boys 15-18 event be in lanes 5, 6, 7 (or whatever lanes you desire as long as they are not overlapping). This will allow both heats to swim simultaneously, and score separately.
In this example:
Heat 2 of event #4 will be combined with Heat 1 of event #5

The Run Interface of Meet Maestro won't reflect the combination of the events, nor will the heat sheets. Meet admins would notify the timer, ready bench, timers, etc. of the combined heats, and many teams will create a spreadsheet that notes all of the combos then share that spreadsheet with the starter, ready bench, head timers, and the opposing team's MD and computers team.
