Please read and review your relay teams

Good morning everyone!

I learned this morning that I have a feature enabled on our meet templates that *might* have allowed a swimmer to be entered into the same relay event more than once - depending on if your coach created relays manually or using the auto-generate feature.  Our coach created them manually, and we accidentally ended up with a 6&U swimmer on two different relay teams in the same event.

I'm sharing below what I received from Swimtopia support this morning (their response took about an hour - which is amazing!!).  I want to give everyone a chance to double check your relay teams, and to let you know that I will disable the feature before our future meets.

Thanks everyone and good luck to those swimming tonight!

Kerry

From Swimtopia Support:

You have your meets set to allow for the entry of relay alternates:

This setting will allow athletes to be added to more than one relay in an event, allowing them to be an alternate in another relay.

It appears your coaches are manually creating their relay entries (as indicated by the "lock" icon, so when they are doing their entries, they will want to get into the habit of checking to see if a swimmer is already part of another relay team before adding them as a 1-4 swimmer (as opposed to an alternate). This is indicated by the letter in front of the swimmer's name so you know which relay team they are assigned to:

If your team does not use relay alternates at all, I suggest unchecking the box on the meet setup to prevent this from being an issue.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions about this setting.
